Recurring transactions happen at the same time you added the original, so we have not way to put this transaction at the end of the day.
You can add a back transaction and you can choose the exact date and time, just tap the Date & Time option in the picker.
As for the other thing, yup that's a little overboard :D

The benefit is simply organizational. If I have a recurring payment listed, I'd rather that be sorted to the bottom of my daily transactions rather than mixed in with my other entries for the day. As it is, adding an entry retroactively (even in date only) sets it to the time that it is being entered in, which is not necessarily accurate & potentially confusing.
In addition, and this may be overboard, but offering entries to be grouped by section of day (i.e. morning, noon, afternoon, evening, night) might be easier to enter for folks in a hurry or trying to recall & submit missed entries. They could easily be sub organized alphabetically (i.e. morning, then A-Z; noon, then A-Z; etc.)
